Sam Yopshikawa

Sam Yoshikawa III is an Urban Choreographer who is trained in Popping, Locking, Breaking, House, and has light training in Dancehall. With roots from Hollister, California, Sam found his passion for movement through Michael Jackson and The Jabbawockeez. Since 2008, he has been free-styling and learning routines off of Youtube and it wasn’t until 2011 where he started receiving professional training at Valley Christian High School, where he accumulated four-Dancer of the Year Awards along with two-George Balanchine Award for excellence in technique. In 2014, Sam was introduced to the Urban Scene by fellow mentor, Dj Baluyot. From there Sam dove into the world of Urban Choreography and his works have been featured in; Valley Christian Schools (San Jose), Dance Theatre International (San Jose), Chocolate Factory Dance Team (San Jose), Purdance (San Jose), Urban Movement (San Luis Obispo) and here at On One Studios (San Jose).
