Sidney & Ryan’s class teaches Miami-style Salsa and Havana-style Casino moves. Each class addresses four distinct levels (1-4) taught simultaneously by four instructors. Class Prerequisites: BEGINNING: A good working knowledge of beginning/ intermediate Salsa footwork and partnering. INTERMEDIATE: Beginning levels 1-3 of Casino Rueda. ADVANCED: Beginning and Intermediate levels 1-3 of Casino Rueda. This class allows casual wear such as jeans, skirts, etc. Ladies may wear heels if desired, but this is not required. Men may wear any shoes that do not scuff the floor. No street shoes, please.

These classes are great for beginning dancers and/or as a supplement to our Friday and Monday classes. We cover material from Levels 2 to 4 during the Int/Adv class and from Levels 1 to 2 during the Beginning Class (see their website for curriculum details).

In this highly energetic class we explore some of the roots and relatives of Salsa in Rumba, Son, Mambo, Cha-cha-chá, Conga, Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and more! Through isolations we gain strength, flexibility and articulate expression throughout the entire body, beginning with the core. We warm up with basic salsa footwork and move on to explore more complex rhythmic variations, stylistic embellishments and related dance styles building towards completing the class with a dynamic and fun choreography.
