Rhythm & Motion dance workout classes incorporate a broad range of movement and music styles, with choreography inspired by popular music from around the world, including Latin, hip hop, African, alternative, and R&B. Fusion is their original fast-paced, follow-along format. Classes begin with a warm-up that emphasizes technique, and build to high energy dancing to increases stamina and strength. The workout concludes with a floor combination to strengthen and stretch the abdomen, legs and arms. Suggested attire: Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in (e.g. tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, yoga pants). Some people like to do this class in bare feet, but most people wear supportive footwear (no street shoes, please).

About Rena Marie Guidry

Rena Marie has been an actor and dancer for over 25 years, in both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, salsa, liturgical, and Samba. She has done music videos, commercials, and films, has performed in self-produced dance theater productions, and been a part of several theatre ensembles. She has also been a guest performer for both Sambaxe, and the Latin Dance Grooves ensemble. Rena Marie has led high-energy, packed classes with Rhythm & Motion since 2011. She is also a trained Drama Therapist, with a MA in counseling psychology. She uses this training in her artistic work with youth and adults. Rena Marie believes the arts are inherently therapeutic, and can be used to bring about healing and wellness.
