MY STORY

Regina Michele Tolbert began studying Congolese dance with Malonga Casquelourd in 1985. She used these roots to branch into other dances of the African Diaspora including Senagalese, Haitian and Brazilian. Jose Francisco Barroso and Obakoso Cuban Dance Company provided the first opportunity to perform as a Soloist. She met Susana Arenas Pedroso while studying with Raices Profundas in Cuba and has participated as dancer and Soloist in many of Arenas Dance Company choreographies. Ms Tolbert designs all of her soloist costumes as well of many costumes worn by dancers in the Bay Area.
