Lizz Roman, Artistic Director of Lizz Roman & Dancers has been dancing and choreographing in San Francisco since 1984. Her work has been presented at ODC Theater, Theater Artaud, DanzHaus, Brady Street Theater, Dancer’s Group, and Yerba Buena Gardens, and won a SF Weekly Black Box Award. Ms. Roman has trained in Modern, Ballet, and Contact Improvisation. Before moving to San Francisco, she studied theater at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago, and attributes much of her choreographic style to her years as a student and performer of improvisational theater. Ms. Roman has taught at UC Berkeley, Rhythm and motion Dance Center, Shawl-Anderson Dance Center; Luna, the School for the Arts, and Berkeley High School. In addition to teaching at ODC School, she teaches at SF Dance Center and is a certified Pilates trainer.
