MY STORY

Koryen was born in the Simi Valley and raised in the Bay Area. His love of dance started in his college years at California State University East Bay when joined the Step/Hip Hop team STANCE in 2011. Due to financial struggles he transferred to San Jose City College, where he was inspired to grow and seek out a competitive team. He joined Chocolate Factory in 2014, which was led by Guino Dalit. While on Chocolate Factory, his thirst of dance knowledge was insatiable, so he started training in Whacking, Contemporary, House, Jazz, Modern, Acro, Contact Improv, and more. His thirst for knowledge isn't just for movement, but for history as well, so he's taken classes from the likes of Princess Lockeroo, Kumari Suraj, Lorena V., and Viktor Manoel, the last serving originator of PUNKING. He adopted the alter ego "KINGK" when he realized how nerve wracking it was to be on stage. He explains, "KingK is the presence you feel when the music starts. KingK is the presence you connect emotionally with when it comes to Performance."
