Juliana Romano is a Bay Area native, artist, dancer and teacher. She has studied Afro-Cuban dance with Susana Arenas Pedroso for the last 5 years and has taken multiple trips to Cuba to study under the guidance of Raices Profundas. Other dance style influences include house and modern contemporary. Juliana has performed at SF Ethnic Dance Festival, Ashkenza, Cuba Caribe Festival, Mission Cultural Center, Oberlin Dance Commons and Dance Mission. SHe graduated from UC Davis with a degree in community development, is fluent in French, and teaches Spanish and dance at John O'Connell High School in the Mission. Her greatest inspiration is her Abuelita who is a pillar of strength, and whose energy she harnesses and releases through her dance.
