Iris and Kirk Tarou both discovered Lindy Hop in 2005. They were first introduced later that year at The 9:20 Special and began taking classes and dancing together regularly, becoming close friends and dance partners shortly thereafter. Fast forward to 2009 – their love for Lindy Hop (and now for each other) led them to running The 9:20 Special (weekly Lindy Hop classes and dancing in San Francisco), which they’ve been doing ever since. They have become staples within the San Francisco Bay Area Lindy Hop scene, as venue & event organizers and instructors. When taking classes with these two you’ll quickly realize their passion for this dance and the community – bringing smiles to the students’ faces while explaining movements clearly and concisely.
